US-based SST (Silicon Storage Technology) announced that it has entered a ten-year licensing and R&D agreement with Taiwanese TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company), under which TSMC can leverage SST's 90 nanometer SuperFlash technology for embedded flash memory. The technology utilized in high-speed ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) and multimedia microchips will be adopted by TSMC and the samples will be delivered in 2007.
